Dating from the early eighteenth century, a beautiful French gilt and embossed leather coffer with original key. French. Note the embossed leather details on the top of the box featuring a diamond crest with three fleur-de-lis motifs and a crown on top. Likely once owned by a Duke or Marquis.
The interior of the box is lined with a cream velvet period fabric and decorative trim. The key and lock mechanics still function well. A fabulous way to decorate your interiors with a fine example of luxury antique leather artisan work from France.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
